Writing on water is like jotting down a thought in order to keep it secure even when it is shaken by the course of life, to distinguish the important things from those you should just let flow by.

Interesting route for publicity on behalf of a company associated with water based activity.

Lumiblade Living Shapes

It has never been as easy to put together an impressive OLED ( Organic Light Emitting Diode)  light installation than it is today using integrated OLED panels. For example, the Lumiblade Living Shapes illustrated boasts over 1,152 Lumiblade OLEDs built into 72 OLED panels, making it the largest OLED light installation in the world. The ingenious computer control allows a camera in the centre of the installation to record each movement in front of the OLED wall, which it then “translates” into impulses that light up specific individual OLEDs. The installation is perfect for retails stores looking for the “Wow factor” or an advertiser looking to stand out from the generic LED signage at the main transport hubs of airports and railway stations. When in text mode, the OLED wall transforms into an oversized display panel. Words move across the OLEDs, flashing or fading, depending on requirements or intended purpose.

Bacteria Stunt

This is a nice way to promote Steven Soderbergh’s “Contagion”, they used a combination of live theatre via the use of a specially adapted van and an interesting “bacteria stunt”m  the bacteria billboard. The posters were actually like giant petri-dishes and prepped with fungi and various bacteria, so that over the span of a few days, the name of the film would literally grow on the posters. We love how they managed to make it grow in the shape of Biohazard symbols as well, nice touch

Micro Projection Mapping

Projection mapping has come a long way in a relatively small period of time. It stimulates the senses, breaks the convention of 2D displays, and frees video from expensive screens and places them on everyday objects. The technique can now be applied to give the “wow” factor for point of sales and window displays.

Guerrilla Projections on the Hoof

Nice idea for the adventurous client or their agency but often poorly executed by people sticking out sub 3,000 ANSI lumens domestic quality projectors literally out of the rear passenger windows! Safety being a major concern to traffic crossing the path of the beam, not to mention the overall quality of projection is going to be poor. Particularly as the speed of the projected object has to be twinned with the hub-speed of the car and generally being only 1/5th of the defined beam strength of our projectors.

However, here at Ministry of Experience we have teamed up with a crew who have converted a 6WD ex military truck with street projections on the go firmly in mind.

Part of the roof has had a dome installed to house a seriously powerful projector that can manned at all times by an operator. Giving total control of the projector beam and running speed at all times as well as being high enough to be out of sight lines of passing vehicles and pedestrians.

Feel free to contact us at anytime, should you wish to discuss a possible campaign.

If you happen to be on Carnaby street soon do go and have a look at the Puma store.  These guys are rocking London.  This was a 5 second gaze window………not an easy achievement in one of the most competitive retails strips in the country.  With their huge balls displayed on the fascia and suspended within the windows (billiard balls…. of course) and their Styrofoam chalks which form plinths on which to display the product, this is a fun scheme worthy of mentioning and wonderfully produced.

HeadSpace

The Air New Zealand use of “Headspace” is all very reminiscent of the activity we ran for Fopp Records  many years ago. So long ago, that neither Twitter nor Facebook existed!
Although the scale was much smaller as we only had 5 people willing to go bald in the middle of November and have “Fopp” neatly etched onto the back of their newly polished scalps!

As I recall it, our Henna tattoos were much more professionally applied and with a deeper understanding for the artistry of the craft than the conveyor belt approach applied by Air New Zealand and their text heavy efforts.

On the downside, we released the format in a pre-pc world and simply called them “Slapheads”” Should we ever revist the format, I think “HeadSpace” would be more in keeping with the times.
